Love, Adi and Aspen

Daddy, we miss cuddling with you in the mornings. Can't you stay longer?

Plus you never take us to the park to play anymore. Mom says it's because you're busy working. Whatever that is. We know you're doing it to pay for our two meals a day-at least mom says so-and all the good treats, plus the pupperoni; but we're missing out on all the good schtick's that we need need NEED to chew on. Mom doesn't think we need more bark on the living room floor, but we don't agree.

Come home so we can go 'sploring and find some good bark making schticks. Schticks are more necessary than pupperoni AND squeaker toys. Much more important.

Love Adi and Aspen.

P.S. daddy, we need to go soon. Our schticks supply is running low.

Dreaming of Gardens

I like to fancy myself as a rather adept green thumb, if you couldn't tell from my coming out of the closet announcement. Once thing I'm super overjoyed about, is my vegetable that actually have flourished since my seed garden.

Doesn't that just make you happy? I can't wait for the day when I have my own private porch or (gasp!) backyard even! What will I do with all that space? Plants loads of peony bushes, tall glorious trees, and a strawberry patch.

My newly planted raspberry bushes, strawberry plants, and tomato plants

Let's be honest, what childhood memory do you have that doesn't include a great big tree? I swear I was part monkey the way I climbed in my tree house and read books in the swing. Wouldn't you love to be seven to eight again? I would.

More tomato plants, we love our tomato's!

Its all worked out, but only because we've got such an understanding landlord. Thank goodness he doesn't care! What summer activities are you looking forward to? Gardening?

mental health day

Since muzzle loader elk or deer or moose (whatever) started Wednesday and the hubby was going to be gone for four+ days, we decided to take tuesday off from work and school to spend time together. Which was divine, since it indcluded going to the park with Adi, stopping off at Nordstroms, and eating yummy Greek Slouvaki.

And multitasking a manicure and a tan at the pool for a good couple of hours. I love our mental health days, I always feel so pampered on those days because I get my honey all to myself, and we get to do whatever we feel like.

I can't believe that its already starting to become fall, where did the summer go? Christmas is right around the corner, which is insane! But wonderful as we will be spending it in Honolulu, HI. Any must do things, or places to eat on Oahu let us know. We're open to any suggestions!

Hope everyone's having a great week!

p.s. whoever thought of getting groups of men together to go hike in the mountains after large stupid animals is not my favorite person right now. But at least it gives me an opportunity to finish home-making our apartment. (Is that even a word?) I will put up pictures of everything polished and pretty + my remaining DIY projects I've done in the past little while.

Crazy Days of Summer Photo Challenge {water}

There is nothing, absolutely nothing that Jared loves more about the summer than swimming. Nothing.

And of course I couldn't help but take advantage of the wonderful sunshine, and my frolicking husband to take some photos.

My husband is a poop sometimes when I ask him to pose for pictures.

He normally consents finally though.

This is the photo that I am submitting to the Crazy Days of Summer Photo Challenge at Project Alicia

I just love it. It was an completely genuine look that Jared has when he's being a fish and launching out of the water. Everything came together in this photo and I just love it. I didn't do a lot of editing on it, just upped the clarity, contrast, and detail a little.

Also, for those that don't know I am also working on getting a photography blog put together so that you all who follow our family blog for family updates aren't bugged by all the photography updates I give. I'll post my photography blog once I'm done formatting it.

Happy summer!

Crazy Days of Summer Photo Challenge #1

This week's challenge was flowers...of course I couldn't help but take more photos
of our peonies, but I also found some great poppies, and a bit of sageweed,
which isn't a flower but definitely a beautiful photo.

The peonies were fully popped, and the poppies were completely open but not wilted yet.
The sage, was just pretty. I love plants. And I love these photos.
I feel like my photography is improving. Hallelujah!
