Lesson learned...

Mother's always know what is best...this I learned...AGAIN...tonight. Being a newlywed doesn't make you a genius, just to clarify. Even though you're completely free (kinda) from parental supervision, they are still often correct even if you do live over 50 miles away now.

Well tonight I did something impetuous and extremely stupid with the help of Jared. I decided to dye my hair. If you don't know I have never dyed my hair except for some lowlights which weren't even that obvious (the dye didn't take well). So I went to the beauty supply store today, bought some dye with the direction and help of the store clerk, and then headed to work.

I've always wanted my hair darker, and figured I was safe to do it before the cruise. Well let's just say, thank freaking goodness I didn't get this notion before the wedding.

After I got back from work my one 'gotta do' was dye my hair. So after dinner Jared helped slop it all in there and wait. Once the 45 mins were up Jer helped me wash it out and to find out to my dismay it was...black. Not the chestnut brown the little hair strip supposedly indicated the color my hair would be. I look half emo. In my opinion. I'm to embarrassed to put a final picture on here.

Once I had gotten it blown dry I burst into tears; thank goodness I have a husband who looks for the bright side in things and can make me laugh.

So basically I feel completely stupid after this whole ordeal. Not only did it not turn my hair the color I wanted it, but the dye got on our table, chairs, and the floor while I was treating my hair. My husband is such a patient, good tempered man to put up with this. Any one else would have been upset at what all went wrong with this great "idea". I love my husband so much and even if we can't fix my hair, I am still determined to have the best vacation ever on our cruise.

But still let's pray it can be fixed tomorrow by someone who knows what they're doing. Hopefully it won't turn out worse than it already is...keep your fingers crossed! If nothing else Jer said we'll look back on this in two years and laugh at how dumb this idea was. I hope he's right!!!

Breakfast in BED

I love my husband so very much! Not just because he spoils me and brings me breakfast in bed TWO days in a row and make me dinner when I get home from work at ten P.M. But for many other reasons then that...life as a newlywed is great, and I am positive that I have the best husband ever! He does so much for me ever single day. I am so grateful to have a loving husband who loves me the way he does.

Here are some pics from the last couple days...

Isn't that beautiful? For our first FHE as a family we drove up to Heber and back.

Here is the candlelight dinner my baby made for me last night...

And here is my waffles in bed this morning. I love this man!!!

Can life get any better right now? I submit that it cannot! You're jealous...you know you are. I have the most amazing man ever and I am never letting him go!

First days as a Newlywed

The first couple days have been rather eventful for Jer and I. Including dealing with returns and exchanges, setting up our apartment, and me starting my new job, we have spent some family time with the in-laws. We went boating Saturday at Pineview Lake and had a blast.

I did the first run of the day
Because everyone else was too chicken

Jer went after me, and Dad had to make a quick turn and unfortunately almost drowned my husband. He didn't mean to, and he felt absolutely awful, but Jer is fine he just hurt his ankle. There were so many boats out there and the wind was contributing to making the water AWFUL. Dad only did a short run and then we quickly headed to shore. I am so grateful that summer has FINALLY come!!!

Here are some quick pics of the part of our apartment that are basically done being put together...

Kitchen counter, entrance to our apt. is on the left

We love being married and are so excited to go on our honeymoon Sunday on a Western Caribbean Cruise! YAY!!!

...Married...

Being married so far (all four days of it) has been amazing! I love being with Jer all the time and not having to go back home at midnight. I love so many new things about this man, and I gain new things I love about him each day. Here are some of the firsts from the beginning of our marriage...

{Why I love my hubby}
He is mechanically inclinded
He winks at me while we're driving
He is constantly refilling my waterbottle for me
He gets up in the middle of the night when I get scared and checks the closet and under the bed
He helped me set up the kitchen which took over six hours
He let's me take lots of pictures of him
He is big on color coordinating which I LOVE
He dip and kissed me in front of Target
He didn't get upset at being late to church today
He made me lunch today while I was unpacking...

...and so many more.

Here are some great pictures of our wedding day that I love. I can't wait to get them printed and up on our walls

Coming out of the temple

All the bridesmaids and groomsmen
Great one of my parents and I
My absolute favorite that was taken by my dad
One that just shows the tiredness and heat of the day...don't worry we really did enjoy the experiences we had
See, we really were amazingly happy! Best day of our lives!!! I've never been happier! I love this man very very much and I am so glad I have him forever!

Bridal Pictures

Now that its officially post wedding I thought I'd put up pictures so all who couldn't make it to the reception can see my dress. These amazing pictures were taken by Jessica Janae Photography at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building

Here are the pictures my Dad took at my Bridals session with Kelly from Gallery Photo

I think that's good for now! I'll put up wedding photos in a couple days!

{Officially a MARRIED woman}

Its three days after our wedding and we're are still so very happy and intend to be forever! I will blog with pictures and update soon.

Day 1: My last day as a SINGLE woman!!!

It has FINALLY COME!!! The wedding day is tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited! We've had to deal with more crisis's today, but all is well.

I got up really early for an interview at a nursing home in Springville and...got the JOB! Then came and met mom at Fashion Place Mall to find her wedding shoes, get dad a new white shirt, and get the sweater for my sister's outfit tomorrow. Then we came home, relaxed and then went and got pedicures! I got a new set put of acrylic nails on and am feeling pretty cute. It was a fun Mother Daughter day and I enjoyed every minute of it!

Then Cafe Rio for dinner and NCIS with Jared completed a perfect day. I'm sure that tomorrow is going to be amazing and I can't wait for it to be morning...but I have to get up at 5:00 AM to shower and make sure everything is packed and loaded before I go to the hair stylists for a 6:00 AM appointment. By 9:30 AM me and Jer will BE MARRIED!!! Less then 13 hours until we are in our sealing!

I'm getting married in the morning and am SOOO happy!!!

Day 2: Oh they say when you marry in June...

...You're a bride all your life.

My all time favorite musical song comes from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and it's absolutely perfect for my theme in life right now.

This is just a small clip of it...if you want a full version of the song go here.

I love love love this movie. I watched it as a little girl and it was always one of my favorites. I certainly hope to be a bride all my life, and remind Jer why he married me each day. I love that man so much! He has the most adorable baby pictures, he always looks so happy and I love it.

Today after taking the final for Book of Mormon, Mom and I headed down to Springville to take all the rest of my closet to the apartment, and then picked up my wedding dress...so its officially back!!!

On our way home we stopped by the Riverwoods mall and good news, Vicki's is having their Half Annual Yearly Sale. I took advantage of that and got one last piece of lingerie. I love lingerie!! Lingerie is just this new found experience that is so fun, that I've never been able to take part of, so I think that's why I'm so excited about it. Kind of like a child at Christmas, but better.

Then I did more thank you notes while Jared was out partying all night long at his second bachelor party.

Only two days left and life is good!!! Things are starting to wrap up. We're just dealing with last minute crisis's at this point, and surprisingly there are a lot of them...anyways wedding planning is almost completely done and finished. THANK GOODNESS! People seriously wonder why brides turn into bridezillas and its not hard to figure out once you consider how many people and their opinions you have to coordinate with. Even the event planners we deal with are opinionated and want things the way they're used to. But its almost done and I am VERY grateful!

Only 36 hours until I'm officially married!

Day 3: something old, new, borrowed, blue

I'm an old fashioned girl (I like to think so), and so I did what any old-fashioned girl would do. I found something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue for my wedding.

Old: pearls sewn into my veil from my mothers wedding veil, both were made by my wonderfully talented father

New: the amazing purple shoes I am wearing for my wedding

Borrowed: my mothers pearl bracelet

Blue: the garter that Jared will be flicking at the reception

Boring I know, but what's the point of spending more money then necessary on something that I'll wear for maybe an hour?

Anyways, only three days left and thank goodness!!!!!

Day 4: Bachelorette party

As it was the last Saturday before my wedding mother and I were frantically doing last minute errands, dropping off, picking up, exchanging, etc. Lots of fun! Then I got ready for my BACHELORETTE party!! My bridesmaids Em, Awi, and then sweet Marianne took me to the Cheesecake Factory, which surprisingly enough NONE of us had EVER been there before!!! We had a 50-75 minute wait so we went and explored the new Sephora in Fashion Place mall. Its so big, and so pretty! Love it!

We had an absolute blast and teased the waiter quite a bit. He was rather friendly towards Marianne, too bad he looked kinda shy...

Awi, and Emma

Marianne, and I

Absolutely DIVINE cheesecake. Flavors were left to right, Chocolate coconut, Dulce de leche Caramel, Raspberry lemon, Strawberry original

And then we watched Bride Wars, my favorite wedding-ish movie ever! Ah now I need to work out...

Day 5: lingerie

If you are a boy, you may not want to read this post. You have been warned...

So, today I gained a new favorite word that I'm sure will be a favorite for quite some time! Lingerie! (not that I didn't know the word before, its just been a top ten word in my vocabulary today.) I had my last and final shower today at Iggy's with friends, and family that are married. There wasn't a lot of people that came but that's OK, it was a lot of fun to just have an intimate group! I got some cute new lingerie outfits and a couple other items that will give me and Jer's wedding night some spice, which is for certain lots of fun! (I didn't take pictures, sorry)

Then afterwards Sherrie, cousin May, Aunt Pat, and I went to Kohl's for some various things where I saw some great lingerie, so I thought oh, I'll just come back later with my mom to look at the lingerie. Well not only did I come back with my mom later, but also another time with Sherrie, and another time with my bridesmaids Em, and Awi to look at lingerie each time. Can we say I love Kohl's today? And of course, the prices are so great in comparison to Vicki's! And they have some of the cutest patterns, colors, and frills. I just love cute underware, especially lingerie! If you haven't been, you should go check out Kohl's.

I was contemplating about how much less bashful I am about lingerie as I was looking with my mother, now that I'm only FIVE DAYS AWAY from being a married woman! The first time I seriously looked at lingerie, contemplating buying it was right after Jer and I had gotten engaged. I was so embarrassed looking at it, and made a point of showing my engagement ring to signify that I was now allowed in that section. I didn't want to try it on, and I didn't want to look at it after I bought it. Oh, I laugh at how timid I was. Maybe you just keep getting more bold about lingerie with your husband over time? I dunno. I certainly know I'm more excited about it now.

p.s. I love lingerie. The end.

p.p.s. For those of you that wanted the Dr. Pepper Chocolate Cake recipe, here it is.

Day 6: new jobs!!!

Absolutely AMAZING news! Jer will probably find out tomorrow about another facility job after a second interview. Today was his last day at his old job, and his first interview for this other job in Orem. I drove down with him this morning, and waited in the car while he did the interview. Nothing beats seeing him confident and happy like that! We're just waiting now to find out if he gets it. If he does that will take SO much pressure off of us!! And I applied at two nursing homes down in Springville and hope to hear back soon!

Here's a pic of one of the piles in our new place...I'm going to have a lot of unpacking to do while Jer is working at this new job (keep your fingers crossed!) since we have a week after we're married before we go on our honeymoon.

Today was also my special day to go to the temple. I won't say much except that it was overwhelming and I plan to back soon, but I loved the way I felt afterwards, and all while I was there.

I was wearing heels, just to explain the bending...

Today was wonderful, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Afterwards the parents, Jer and I went to Red Lobster for dinner. I'm so glad we're under a week until the wedding! I'm getting rather impatient!!!

...wide empty spaces...

Its official, my room is becoming more, and more empty. Understandably, but still. This is whole leaving home permanently thing is going to be a lot harder then I was expecting...exciting though! (You'll notice the wall is now repaired...yes my father is amazing.)
So sad. But it's going to be good! I love the idea of setting up house with Jer. I'm so excited to get our new apartment set up, and to get all settled and started in life!

Day 7: special nights

I spent most of my day at home today, which made Jer surprising me and taking me to my FAVORITE restaurant even more special! I looked terrible, so sorry. I didn't make the effort to shower, instead I watched Sandra Bullock movies (love her!) as I packed up more of my room.

You can see the hints of paradise in this picture. Jer AND Red Rock
Love Salt Lake City when there's a storm rolling in! Most of my childhood memories involve that warm breeze before a rain storm.
The most divine treat ever, fried green tomatoes! Jer makes them really good, we just need to master the sauce. That's what makes them! They're not exactly on my diet list, but I've been really good of late.
I love this man! Look at that smile, so handsome!
Nothing beats kissing in the rain for romantics, its our favorite.

This next week cannot go faster for either of us. We are both so ready to be together forever, and to be able to have a couple weeks with no stress, and no wedding planning going on while we are together. I love this man, and even in our darkest times we remember the love and times we've shared. We certainly signed up for a hard fight, but its all worth it. And so the important countdown begins.
